Willets Point

As the City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) moves to redevelop Willets Point, an industrial area nestled between Corona and Flushing north of Flushing Meadows Park, Pratt Center facilitated a series of workshops to identify and prioritize the concerns of area residents, business owners and workers. The Pratt Center prepared a report based on these conversations, Making Willets Point Work for New York: A Plan for Neighborhood Success (6.3 MB), evaluating the EDC's plan and making recommendations for improvements.

Community Resiliency Planning Hubs

Intro Paragraph: 
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Pratt Center envisions the creation of community resiliency planning hubs to streamline government resources and to foster a participatory rebuilding process. Toward this end, we recently worked with a number of our partners to launch the Sandy Design Help Desk in Rockaway.
Community-based, post-Sandy planning hubs can serve as a one-stop-shop for government, communities and businesses to work toward resiliency.
