Tanu leads Pratt Center’s sustainable economic development initiatives. She has extensive experience in urban planning, economic development, and inclusive business models in the US and India.
Previously, she was a consultant with the Monitor Group in India and New York, where she worked to develop the market for low-income housing and housing finance in cities across India. Prior to Monitor, she was the Director of Business Services at the New York Industrial Retention Network (NYIRN), managing the organization’s sustainable economic development programs with a focus on growing New York City's green manufacturing sector. She has also served as an urban planning and strategy consultant to government agencies, non-profits, and social enterprises in India and Jamaica.
Tanu has a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University, and a B.A. from Williams College.
