Vicki Weiner

Senior Fellow

Vicki Weiner is a Senior Fellow working on Pratt Center’s sustainability and economic development programs, as well as its general administration.

Vicki first joined Pratt Center in 2004 to lead projects that explore the connection between preserving culturally important places and creating more equitable communities. She has conducted community planning and preservation studies in such places as Fulton Street Mall in downtown Brooklyn, Manhattan’s East Village, and the Cypress Hills/East New York communities of Brooklyn. In 2007 she joined the Center's management team and took on the coordination of all of its community planning projects. She was promoted to Deputy Director in 2011. In 2019, she transitioned to the role of Senior Fellow in order to become the Academic Coordinator of the Historic Preservation Program at Pratt Institute’s Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment.

Vicki has twenty years of professional experience in community preservation and planning. Previous to coming to Pratt Center she directed two non-profit historic preservation organizations in New York City, where she designed and implemented historical research, community outreach, and preservation policy projects. She has also served as a consultant to numerous community organizations and government agencies.  

Vicki holds a B.A. degree from Drew University in New Jersey, and an M.S. degree in Historic Preservation from Columbia University.
