Resources for Manufacturers
Made In NYC provides an extensive list of organizations that serve manufacturers in New York City. It is a great resource for businesses in the urban manufacturing sector. This list (below) includes financing resources, technical assistance, energy efficiency and green manufacturing advice, and waste reduction programs for industrial and manufacturing businesses. Financing Resources
The New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS)
The NYC Department of Small Business Services helps businesses open, expand and operate in NYC. They provide a suite of services to specifically help businesses navigate financing options and government incentive programs.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC)
NYCEDC is the primary economic development organization for the city, and works to promote and support businesses across a variety of industries.
Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC)
ESDC is the primary economic development organization for NY state. The organization provides economic data and research, business assistance, and financing through a variety of grant, loan, and tax incentive programs.
Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Initiative
The initiative works in collaboration with the Small Business Assistance Center of LaGuardia Community College to provide a program which combines entrepreneurial training with small business lending.
Technical / Business Assistance
Industrial and Technology Assistance Corporation
ITAC is a nonprofit consulting and training organization that helps manufacturing and technology companies expand and improve their bottom lines.

Business Outreach Center Network
Business Outreach Center Network’s mission is to improve the economic prospects of traditionally underserved groups, with a focus on low- and moderate-income entrepreneurs and their communities. They operate their own loan funds and can also help entrepreneurs to apply to other loan funds.
LIC Partnership’s mission is to advocate for economic development that benefits Long Island City’s industrial, commercial, cultural, and residential sectors
South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corp.
SoBRO is the Industrial Business Solutions Provider for all five of the Bronx's Industrial Business Zones: Bathgate, Port Morris, Eastchester, Zerega, and Hunts Point. We assist businesses by securing State tax credits under the Empire Zones Program as well as provide a wide range of assistance to companies including real estate assistance and advice on how to cut government red tape

GIDC works to strengthen and support local apparel manufacturing in New York. Services offered include Fashion Sourcing Consultations, Marketing and Branding Consultations, Job Placement, Employee Training, and more
Green Business Assistance
NYSERDA assists businesses in improving the energy efficiency of their operations through a range of business services, including financing programs. The EDGE Program has specific incentives for manufacturers / industrial businesses.
Recycling
One-stop recycling, waste prevention, and composting resource for NYC residents, schools, institutions, and businesses.
MFTA gathers materials from companies and individuals that no longer need them and makes them available, for free, to the artists and educators. In the process, hundreds of tons are removed from the waste stream every year and kept out of landfills, which helps sustain our environment, promotes reuse, and reduces waste
NYC WasteMatch is a free online materials exchange and referral service. NYC WasteMatch matches generators or donors of valuable commercial “waste” and surplus materials to users or recipients.
Sourcing
AboutSources is a resource for apparel and accessory manufacturers, designers, and buyers. They publish B2B information online and in various titles including “The Sourcer’s Guide” and “Textile Sources: Who’s Who in the USA & Canada.” AboutSource also participates in various tradeshows across the country, and sponsors the New York City DG Expo.
Makers Row is a search engine for factories in the USA, with the goal of making the manufacturing process more accessible and easily understood for everyone from new manufacturers to established companies.
MShopnyc keeps a running directory of hundreds of apparel manufacturing and sourcing resources within New York City’s Garment Center. The resources include screen printers, sample makers, fabric and trim sourcing and more. Manufacturers also have the ability to list themselves in MShopnyc’s directory."
