About the Fellowship

Pratt Center for Community Development is pleased to announce its eighth annual Taconic Fellowship. The Taconic Fellowship supports Pratt Institute faculty, staff, and students working on community development projects throughout New York City. The goals of the Fellowship are to connect Pratt Institute's diverse disciplines to community development initiatives while supporting Pratt’s commitment to collaboration, interdisciplinary projects, and service learning.

Selected Fellows receive:

  • Up to $12,000 in financial support for their community-serving project
  • Access to specialized training for community development practitioners lead by Pratt Center staff on a variety of topics such as community-centered leadership, effectively navigating partnerships, project management strategies, and more
  • Ongoing project support for the duration of the fellowship
  • Photography support for project documentation
  • Access to a network of emerging and established community development practitioners
  • The opportunity to be published in Pratt Center’s annual Taconic Fellowship publication

Previous Taconic Fellows have gone on to establish courses at Pratt Institute based on their projects, publish books, and even receive job offers based on their Fellowship projects.

Pratt Center is currently accepting proposals for its 2020-2021 Taconic Fellowship Program. Pratt Institute students, faculty, and staff from all disciplines and departments are encouraged to apply. Taconic Photography Fellowship
For the first time, Pratt Center is offering a specialized Taconic Photography Fellowship for the 2020-2021 school year. Pratt Center recognizes the importance of high-quality documentation for both fellows and community partners. The Taconic Photography Fellow will work with all Taconic Fellows to document their projects. The Taconic Photography Fellowship is ideal for students with photography experience who are interested in improving their work with community groups and organizations.
